Predator Awareness Day at Utah's Hogle Zoo
Posted On Tuesday, June 07, 2011
SALT LAKE CITY (June 7) - While most come to Hogle Zoo to see unique wildlife, most Utahns need only step out their back door to encounter wild animals. That's why Hogle Zoo is teaming up with various local and national wildlife groups and agencies for Predator Awareness Day Saturday June 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be numerous booths set up on Zoo grounds where the public can learn about predators, especially those found in Utah and the surrounding areas. Groups like the Division of Wildlife Resources, HawkWatch International and even the Girl Scouts of America will be on grounds answering questions and educating people about co-existing with predators that could be in their own backyards.
The day will also feature fun activities where kids can learn all about the predators we find in the Utah wilderness close to our homes. Additionally, Hogle Zoo staff will be on hand to answer questions about animals and present Meet-a-Keeper feeding demonstrations with many of the predatory animals found on Zoo grounds.
Head to Hogle Zoo Saturday, June 11 to learn about the wild animals living in Utah and how to live peacefully alongside them.
