Please continue reading below for step by step instructions on how to make a field trip reservation for your school. Field Trip Reservations for Spring 2015 are now closed/full. Field Trip Reservations for Fall 2015 (September – December) begin August 1st, 2015. Field Trip Reservations for Spring 2016 (January – June) begin September 1st, 2015. General Information On Field Trips: Once your email has been sent, please allow up to 5 days for a response. Sending an email does not mean your reservation has been confirmed. Reservations are first come first serve and only available to Title I schools in Utah. Once your email has been sent, please allow up to 5 days for a response. Sending an email does not mean your reservation has been confirmed. Schools without confirmed reservations will not be allowed to visit the Zoo for free. For the safety of our animals and your students, we limit the number of free school registrations per day. You are required to provide one adult for every five students. Chaperones must be 21 or older and stay with their students. Please understand if you show up for your field trip short even 1 chaperone you will be required to pay full admission prices for your entire group, there are no exceptions! Students and chaperones are required to wear identification tags with the school and teacher’s name. Students may not wear Heely shoes or bring other prohibited items. For more frequently asked questions, please click here. How To Make A Reservation: Before making a reservation, please check our current blackout dates and dates already booked by clicking here. Once making sure your dates do not coincide with our blackout/full dates, please email email@example.com with the information below. We do not take reservations over the phone. Your first and last name Your phone number (either your personal or school number) School Principal phone number Your email address (either your personal or school email) Your school’s name, address, and district The date you would like to visit Please pick upwards of 5 dates with each receiving its own corresponding preference(as dates fill up between e-mails) The estimated arrival time How many students will be attending Any extra chaperones or preschoolers you/the school may be paying for Do you plan on bringing lunch to the Zoo After sending your reservation, please wait at least five days to hear back. If your reservation works out, we’ll send you a confirmation statement. Sending an email does not mean a reservation has been made. When we receive your reservation, we will automatically set your chaperone number to fit the1:5 ratio. These will be the adults who will receive free admission. Your chaperone number will also include any teachers. If the teachers want to be separate to supervise the chaperones, they will need to pay admission or they can use their membership if they have one. If you plan to bring extra chaperones, they will need to be paid for or they can use their individual memberships. If you are paying for extra chaperones or preschool children, please make sure to state this in your first email. Once You Have Received Confirmation: You will know your reservation has been made when you receive a confirmation email with a confirmation statement attached. When it is time to check-in, please make sure you have printed off the first page of your confirmation statement to turn in to our staff. Your confirmation statement will also contain your date of visit, arrival time, name, phone number, etc. Verify that this information is correct and let us know as soon as possible if changes need to be made. All rules for chaperones, teachers, and students will be in an attachment in the email. You do not need to print contracts off and turn them in, but you will need to turn the first page of your confirmation statement. Lastly, your email will identify which parking lot your school will check in at. Generally all schools will be asked to check in at the main entrance. Bus drivers will receive free admission to the zoo. Parking in the main lot is not permitted without prior approval from your reservation. What To Do On The Day Of Your Reservation: On the day of your field trip, check in at the parking lot stated in your confirmation email. You cannot check in until your entire party is present. Please try to car pool or have chaperones ride the bus with the students to open parking spots to other schools. If you have other chaperones drive themselves, they need to check in at the same gate as the school and at the same time or they will be charged admission. No exceptions. Make sure you have all students and chaperones are wearing tags with the school and teacher’s name before entering the Zoo. The teacher who made the reservation needs to check in the school or send someone in their place. To check in for your school give the Guest Services employee at the ticket taker the first page of your confirmation statement. They will make sure all the information on the page has been filled out and verify your student and chaperone amount. If there are extra chaperones being paid for by the school, you will need to pay for them in advanced at any ticket window. If the extra chaperones are paying individually, they will need to pay for their admission before check-in as well. Each extra chaperone will need to show their admission ticket upon entering the Zoo. Once we have confirmed that you are aware of our policies and you have confirmed your 1:5 ratio, you are all set to enjoy the Zoo.
