Teaching Kits for Your Classroom
Need help teaching tough topics in science? Take advantage of Utah’s Hogle Zoo's Outreach Kit Program. The kits provide a simple curriculum that you can follow with your class.
Our outreach kits may be checked out one at a time for two weeks, and are $10 to reserve. Kits will not be reserved and ready for pick up unless the $10 fee has been received. Kits also require a credit card number as deposit and you will be charged for any damages or missing items.
Biofact Kits
Is your class learning about Adaptations or Classification? These topics will be much more interesting to your students when you use animal "biofacts." If you have another topic in mind, give us a call! A variety of horns and antlers, coverings, bird feathers and nests, skulls and even eggs are available for study of specific animals or animal groups. Please reserve custom kits well in advance.
Realm of the Tiger
Tigers are recognized by virtually everyone. Unfortunately, these amazing cats are vanishing quickly. Realm of the Tiger is an educational kit sponsored by the Save the Tiger Fund, AZA and Exxon to promote the plight of tigers. It contains National Geographic videos, posters, transparencies and lessons. Also available is a kit that includes Realm of the Tiger along with a tiger puppet, books, and classroom activities suited for younger grades.
Amphibian Alert!
Amphibian Alert! teaches children what amphibians are and why amphibian population declines are scaring scientists and communities throughout the world. The amphibian decline dilemma represents an outstanding opportunity for educators to introduce into the classroom a real-world problem that is being addressed by science. This topic is so crucial that 2008 is the AZA's Year of the FROG!
