Celebrating the 150th Driving of the Golden Spike!
Party with the Zoo as we join in on the festivities surrounding the 150thanniversary of one of the landmark moments in recorded history, the driving of the golden spike in Promontory, Utah making coast-to-coast travel by train possible.
Come early as from 9 to 11AM only, you’ll be able to snap a photo in front of the Zoo’s two beautiful C.P. Huntington locomotives situated NOSE-TO-NOSE, replicating the iconic photo of 1869. It will be a ONE TIME opportunity to see these two engines touching cow catchers!
The event is FREE with paid Zoo admission or a valid Zoo membership.
Sponsored in part by the SPIKE150 committee.
