Kids, Critters, and Crafts

Join us at the Zoo for a wildly entertaining morning of crafting for kids with animal ambassador friends! This program is designed for the budding artistic naturalist in your family. During these 2-hour classes,kidswill get in touch with their creative (and wild) side as they learn about a featured animal, walk through the zoo to see it in its habitat, enjoy a meet-and-greet with an ambassador animal, and create a masterpiece to take home. This class is appropriate for kids aged 6 to 11.

All materials for this class are included, and participants will be able to walk away with an awesome craft by the end of the morning. One adult is required to accompany each group of up to three children.

 $15/participant

  • Parents wanting to participate will be asked to pay the regular class price of $15.
  • Tickets are non-refundable. We reserve the right to cancel this class if there are less than 10 people registered.

Snow Globes

Join us for some frosty fun 2-hour art and science adventure. We’ll discover how animals survive through the winter with a trip though the zoo to visit one of our cold-weather animals. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a winter themed masterpiece to take home.


Night Light Luminaries

You’ll be glowing with excitiement during this month’s 2-hour art and science adventure. Uncover the secrets of the night by taking a closer look at some of our nocturnal friends. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a shiningmasterpiece to take home.


Bee Home

Ages: 6-11

Buzz on over to this 2-hour art and science adventure. We’ll learn about Utah’s native pollinators with a trip though the zoo to visit one of our flying friends and their habitat. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a mason bee house to hang outside at your own home garden!


Sun Catchers

Ages: 6-11

You’ll be dazzled with colors at this 2-hour art and science adventure.Discover a world of color by taking a look at some of Utahs’s native flyers. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create some colorfulmasterpieces to take home.


Bird Feeder

Fly on over to this 2-hour art and science adventure. We’ll learn about Utah’s native flyers with a trip though the zoo to visit some of our flighted friends and their habitat. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a bird feeder to hang outside at your own home!

Ocean Art

Reduce, reuse, and learn why recycling is important for ocean animals during this 2-hour art and science adventure. We’ll take a peek at some of our traveling exhibits and a few of or animal friends to learn how to be better environmental stewards. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create some eco-friendlymasterpieces to take home.

Animal Planter

Dig in to this month’s 2-hour art and science adventure with us. Uncover the importance of plants and how animals interact with a quick walk to a nearby exhibit. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a livingmasterpiece to take home.

Red Panda Piggybank

You’ll be seeing red, white and black during this 2-hour art and science adventure. You’ll head down to the Red Panda Exhibit to see what our pandas are up to and learn about what their day at the Zoo is like as well as how they spend their days in Nepal. Then you’ll head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a masterpiece to take home.

Back-to-School Pencil Case

Zip on over to this 2-hour art and science adventure at the zoo. Together we’ll learn about the schooling young animals go through to know how to survive in the wild by taking a look at some of our favorites. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a recycledmasterpiece to take to school.

Light Up Lanterns

Join us for a spooktacular 2-hour art and science adventure. Investigate the curious creatures that inspired our Halloween favorites with a walk to a nearby exhibit. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create a Halloweenmasterpiece to take home.

Lion Lookout

Join us for a roaring good time at this 2-hour art and science adventure. Travel with us to our lion exhibit and learn about how lions spend their days both at the Zoo and in Africa. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and create lion-themedmasterpieces to take home.

Paint-Your-Own Mug

Ages: 6-11

Come get ready for those chilly winter days at this 2-hour art and science adventure. Take a quick walk through the zoo and discover what animals do in winter. Then head back to our artist’s studio to meet an animal ambassador and decorate your very own hot cocoa mug to take to school.
