Every May, thousands of people celebrate Endangered Species Day by visiting parks, wildlife refuges and zoos and attending events in support of nationwide conservation efforts underway protecting America’s threatened, endangered and at-risk species. The Endangered Species list, co-administered by the U.S Fish & Wildlife Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has prevented hundreds of listed species from becoming extinct.
