Signing the Contract:
A completed and signed contract must be returned to Utah’s Hogle Zoo upon reservation with all appropriate deposit fees in order to reserve and confirm the date of your event.
The signed contract and deposit must be received before admission tickets will be issued. Admission tickets will be printed and, in most cases, mailed by the Zoo prior to your event. Only Zoo-printed tickets will be accepted at the gate. Ticket quantities are determined by the client. A request must be phoned in, faxed in, mailed or e-mailed to our office four (4) weeks prior to your event. It is your responsibility to see that your guests receive their tickets prior to entering the admission gate. The Zoo is not responsible for guests without tickets and cannot hold tickets in will-call unless other arrangements have been made. Admission tickets for private events are required. Hogle Zoo memberships may not be used for admission to private parties and events.
Inclement Weather Policy:
The Zoo is open every day of the year, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, regardless of the weather. Due to high demand for reserved space at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, we are unable to schedule advance inclement weather reservations. In the event of inclement weather, tickets issued to you can still be redeemed at the Zoo admissions gate on the day of your event. These tickets will be billed to your designated organization according to the original contract. If applicable, the Zoo reserves the right to move any scheduled outdoor event to an indoor facility based on current or forecasted weather conditions, and the number of guests expected for the event.
Menu selections are required four (4) weeks in advance and final food count is due ten (10) days before the day of your event. Changes to the Event Order (EO) or contract within seventy-two (72) hours of your event are subject to an additional service fee.
Price based on minimum twenty (20) guests. An additional fee of $50 for labor will apply for groups under 20. Service is for 1.5 hours. Biodegradable service-ware.
If you are a tax-exempt organization, you must provide a copy of your tax-exempt letter or certification with the contract. If proof of exemption is not provided with the signed contract, the booking organization becomes subject to any applicable tax(es).
Conduct of Event:
You agree to conduct an event that is sensitive and appropriate to the surrounding environment. You assume full responsibility for the conduct of anyone associated with your event during the time they are under your control; these include guests, children, invitees, employees, or independent contractors employed by client. Furthermore, you must conduct the event in an orderly manner in full compliance of all applicable laws, codes, and rules and regulations set forth by Utah’s Hogle Zoo.
Any live entertainment at the Zoo you are planning to incorporate into your event (bands, disc jockeys, mascots, performers, clowns, face painters, etc) must be pre-approved for inclusion and may be required to sign an Outside Vendor Contract.
Decorations and Gift Bags:
Please remember you cannot hand out or bring on grounds: straws, balloons of any kind, water pistols, stickers, confetti, frisbees, laser pointers, fire crackers, balls of any kind, yo-yo’s, whistles, Mardi Gras necklaces, beads, and small plastic figures or items which may frighten or cause harm to UHZ animals. If in doubt, please contact us ahead of time for approval. Please see the Zoo Rules under “Your Zoo Visit” for a more detailed list of items that are permitted on zoo grounds.
