            <description>Program Intern  Do you love children and animals? Interested in creating a frog with paper plates and googly eyes, howling like a wolf, and playing predator versus prey games? Then an education internship is just for you! Hogle Zoo prides itself on offering one of the most educational and entertaining summer day camp experiences in Utah, offering a variety of classroom and curriculum internship experiences with children of all ages.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; Responsibilities for the Education Department Internship include assisting with curriculum preparation, teaching, and classroom activities for the Zoo&amp;rsquo;s popular summer day camp&amp;mdash;Zoo Camp. Working under the supervision of the Education Specialist, work hours are 6-8 hours per day, 20-40 hours per week, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays. &amp;nbsp; Duties may include:    Assist with onsite classes. Duties include design and implementation of lesson plans, getting supplies ready, helping students with crafts/activities, supervising students, cleaning up, and any other assistance the education staff member may require.   Maintenance of educational supplies, including biofacts.   Research of animal natural history, ecology and conservation information   Present exploration stations. Engage visitors in a discussion about animal artifacts or objects contained within a kit. Must be able to understand concepts to present a message or theme to public.   Customer service. Will be working with the public and need to be familiar with the zoo, its layout, and how to talk to visitors. Work hours are flexible; 5 hours per week expected. &amp;nbsp; Duties will include&amp;nbsp;    Organize all aspects of      zoo&amp;rsquo;s animal artifact collection (biofacts)   Label, organize and catalog items in collection   Refurbish worn biofacts and repair broken biofacts (such as skulls) with common products such as glue and polyurethane   Prepare and clean new biofacts for collection (such as feathers)    Link educational information to biofacts in collection   Assist with training volunteers in use and care of biofacts  &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;                Internship available:       1 Non paid internships                 Dates/Season:       First week of June &amp;ndash; Mid August                 Application deadline:       April 1                 Send application/ transcript/resume/cover letter to:       Chris Schmitz              &amp;nbsp;          &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;   &amp;nbsp;Click here to download an Internship Application &amp;nbsp;</description>
