Applicants must already be at least 14. There is no upper age limit, but all volunteers need to be able to bend, stand, and lift up to 30 pounds.
If accepted, there is a training fee of $20.
Spring training is held on Saturdays. Fall training is on Wednesdays.
All applications for spring training must be received by end of business on March 1. All applicants will be contacted for an interview early in March. Fall applications are due September 1.

Applications MUST be received by March 1, to be considered for the spring training classes and by September 1 to be considered for the fall training classes.
No. First-year volunteers do not participate in animal handling, but can apply for the animal handling class their second year. For safety, we do not have any volunteers in our elephant, venomous reptile or cat areas.
We do not do community service. All of our volunteer work requires training and a TB test. If you would like to join our volunteer program, you can apply online or get an application from guest services.
No. If you got our email, you are still in our applicant pool. We keep all applications on file for 12 months.
