Ghost of the Bayou Heads Home
White Alligator leaves Utah’s Hogle Zoo!
From May 5, 2007 through the end of September 2008, Utah’s Hogle Zoo was home to a rare white alligator from New Orleans. He has now returned to his permanent home in Louisiana. This alligator isn’t albino; he’s leucistic, and purely white in color with dazzling blue eyes.
There are only ten of these white gators in the entire world!
In place of our Ghost of the Bayou white alligator, visitors will now be able to see our new Madagascar! exhibit, featuring fossa, Madagascar tree boas, tenrecs, star tortoises and Madagascar hissing cockroaches.
The Madagascar exhibit at Utah’s Hogle Zoo is free with membership or paid zoo admission.
