Skaggs Animal Health Center This completely new, state-of-the-art animal care center, is equipped and staffed to provide an unprecedented level of care for all the Zoo's nearly 900 animals. This new facility opened November 17, 2009. This is the Zoo's first LEED certified building.Read the press release on the opening of the Zoo's newest building. Oasis Plaza A themed public plaza is the focus of visitor activity in the center of the Zoo, Oasis Plaza highlights the Conservation Carousel. The carousel features 42 hand-carved, hand-painted wild animals.
