The new Rocky Shores exhibit is the largest project the Zoo has ever undertaken in its 80 year history. Four acres in the northwest corner of the Zoo was demolished to make way for this exciting new exhibit featuring bears, seals, sea lions, otters and bald eagles. Rocky Shores is scheduled to open June 1, 2012. When completed this new exhibit will feature underwater viewing as well as spectacular, naturalistic views of all the animals. We’re documenting this project from demolition of the old exhibits through each stage of the complicated process of building this new state-of-the-art facility.
