Discovered: Dalton Wells Quarry and Gaston Quarry, near Moab, Grand County, Utah, USA

Height: 6.5 feet

Length: 23 feet

Weight: 1 tons

Diet: Meat eater

Super Raptor

Utahraptor (YOU-tah-WRAP-tore) had a large, curved “killing claw” that was covered with a sheath of keratin (the same substance that makes up your skin and fingernails). With the sheath, this claw could have reached a terrifying 9.4 inches long, or more!

According to fossil remains found in central Utah, the Utahraptor was the alpha predator of the Early Cretaceous, approcimately 124 million years ago.
