CONSERVATION FIELD TECHNICIAN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Utah’s Hogle Zoo’s Field Technician program is designed to give people the opportunity to learn about the animal world, ecology and conservation through taking part in one of the Zoo’s conservation programs
Conducting work off Zoo grounds, a typical day would involve meeting at the Zoo early morning, driving to the monitoring site, hiking in (30 mins- 2 hours) and surveying an area. Our main focus over the summer months this upcoming year is the boreal toad, so expect wetland areas and alpine lakes.
Data collected goes towards discovering more about this state protected amphibian, so we can provide the best conservation measures possible.
Both day trips and longer camping trips of up to four days are carried out over summer, all around Utah. All travel to and from the zoo, food and field equipment is included.
For individuals 18 and older
