Applicants must already be at least 14. There is no upper age limit, but all volunteers need to be able to bend, stand, and lift up to 30 pounds.
If accepted, there is a training fee of $15.
Spring training is held in May. Fall training will be in September.
All applications for spring training must be received by end of business on April 1. All applicants will be contacted for an interview later that month. Fall applications are due August 1.

If you’ve used our paper-free online application form, you don’t have to print it out and turn the application in. It will automatically be forwarded to our Volunteer Coordinator.
Applications MUST be received by April 1, to be considered for the spring training classes and by August 1 to be considered for the fall training classes.
First-year volunteers do not participate in animal handling, but can apply for the animal handling class their second year. For safety, we do not have any volunteers in our elephant, venomous reptile or big cat areas.
We do not offer community service. All of our volunteer opportunities require training and a TB test. If you would like to join our volunteer program, please apply online .
