Creekside features an interactive play area for families, and the popular Wyatt Fricks Discovery Theater, sponsored by Mountain America Credit Union, where guests will enjoy exciting hands-on presentations featuring some of the Zoo’s smaller animals. Click here for more details.
During the summer months, visitors of all ages will enjoy this addition to the Zoo where kids can splash in the tide pools, frolic though sprays of water gushing out of a blow hole and try to catch a spurt of water from the jumping water fountain. A themed public plaza is the focus of visitor activity in the center of the Zoo, Oasis Plaza highlights the Conservation Carousel. The carousel features 42 hand-carved, hand-painted wild animals. The Plaza also includes new guest amenities including a new food area with decked seating overlooking Emigration Creek. This state-of-the-art animal care center, is equipped and staffed to provide an unprecedented level of care for all the Zoo’s nearly 900 animals. This facility opened November 17, 2009.
This was the Zoo’s first LEED certified building.

The Conservation Resource Center (CRC) opened at Utah’s Hogle Zoo in July of 2012. Located near the south entry of the Zoo, the 10,700 square foot CRC provides support space for the Zoo’s administrative staff through offices, storage and meeting spaces. The building continues the Zoo’s leadership in environmental and energy design in the community. It is the second building on Zoo grounds to receive a Gold LEED certification rating.
