As a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, Utah’s Hogle Zoo upholds the highest animal care standards in the world as an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) since 1979 — a distinction given to only 10% of animal institutions.
Creating champions for wildlife by making connections between people and animals to inspire action.
A world where people and wildlife thrive together.
Utah’s Hogle Zoo is home to two half-sibling southern white rhinos, George and Princess. They are nearly the oldest southern white rhinos at any AZA accredited zoo and are considered geriatric members of their species. Their care is unique and consists of special diets and habitat modifications to make their home as comfortable as possible for them.
