Learn moreUpland systems in Utah, such as the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and the Mojave Desert, vary in plant and animal communities. During this Desert field course, you will spend time exploring sagebrush and pinyon-juniper communities of the foothills, identifying wildflowers of the Great Basin, and immersing yourself in the geology, history, and ecology of the Moab area. This module consists of an on-line portion as well as 24 hours of in-person instruction, 80-90 percent of which is in the field. *This class requires one overnight stay in Moab, lodging and food not included.
RegisterIt’s the sloth sensation that is sweeping the nation! Join us as we celebrate the spectacular sloth, which is an ecosystem all on its own! In this guided acrylic painting class, your masterpiece will show-off your sloth skills.
RegisterGirl Scouts will learn about nocturnal animals and how to protect them when outdoors. They will learn what types of adaptations animals use to survive in darkness and how to spot them. During this class, scouts will complete 5 out of 5 of the requirements for the Cadet Night Owl badge. This class is designed for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. Adults are welcome to attend class but are not required to stay. Badges are not provided by the zoo.
