About ZooLights at Utah's Hogle Zoo
Not a creature was stirring… and that includes most of the animals. While you likely won’t spot them out and about, you’ll still find plenty of sparkle and festive cheer to make your evening bright at ZooLights.
Explore Hogle Zoo’s annual holiday lighting event and step into a wonderland of lights, festive cheer, and magical moments perfect for families, date nights, and a fun night with friends. While the animals settle in for a silent night, the zoo comes alive with twinkling displays. ZooLights only runs on select nights, so bring your family and friends for a magical night at the zoo.
ZooLights Silent Night is a sensory-friendly evening for guests to experience ZooLights with adjustments to sound, flashing lights, and smells.

Know before you GLOW
ZooLights is an after-hours holiday tradition to celebrate the season at Hogle Zoo. Wander through a glowing winter wonderland filled with holiday-themed light displays, festive decorations, and family-friendly fun.
Enjoy seasonal treats at the Beastro, warm drinks, and interactive holiday experiences. While most habitats will be dark to let animals rest, there’s still plenty of magic to explore.
Bundle up and join us for a night of lights, laughter, and holiday cheer!
ZooLights is an after-hours light display; most habitats will be closed or dark so the animals can get a full night’s rest, including: Great Apes, Bear den, the Small Animal Building, Creekside, Asian Highlands, South Hill, and the Ape Lobby. The Norma Education building will close at sundown.

Depending on your group size, we recommend at least an hour and a half to experience the event. ZooLights displays glow brighter as the night goes on, so grab dinner at The Beastro, visit Santa in the Wild Zootique gift shop, and explore ZooLights under the stars.
The Conservation Carousel will be operating during ZooLights. Tickets are $3 per person per ride.
Please note:
- Queue lines for the Conservation carousel may close 15-30 minutes prior to ZooLights closing at 9:00 PM.
- The Eccles Express cannot run when there is rain, ice, or snow on the tracks.
Yes! ZooLights happens snow or shine, so gear up for a night like no other. ZooLights admission tickets are not refundable due to weather.
Yes, you can buy tickets for ZooLights tickets at the ticketing windows However, we recommend buying your tickets online to save time.
Yes, ZooLights is more fun with friends! Zoo members can use their membership discount to buy tickets for their family and friends.
