Step into a bewitching world of pumpkins and glowing displays at BooLights, Hogle Zoo’s signature fall event. As the animals go to bed, the zoo will transform into a spooktacular destination of Halloween lights, entertainment, and attractions for ghouls of all ages.
Dress to impress with your favorite costume while munching on exclusive treats from the Beastro. BooLights is the perfect not-so-spooky, family-friendly event to celebrate Halloween.
Costumes: For the safety of resident animals and guests, we do not allow full face-covering masks, weapons, or resemblance of weapons of any kind. Utah’s Hogle Zoo reserves the right to deny entry to anyone whose costume is inappropriate, crude, revealing, graphic, or deemed a risk or threat by zoo staff.

Back by popular demand, celebrate the spooky season at this popular ZooBrew event. Wear your best costume, sip chilling concoctions, and get ready for a spook-tacular time where eerie decorations and glowing lights transform Hogle Zoo into a bewitching venue of brews and boos. (21+ Only)
Throw the spookiest party for your guests during BooLights at Hogle Zoo. BooLights offers a unique venue that will enhance social gatherings like celebrations, receptions, and corporate events.
BooLights is Hogle Zoo’s signature Halloween-themed, after-hours event featuring a family-friendly light display. During BooLights, the zoo transforms into a glowing autumn destination with seasonal decorations, interactive attractions like the Witch’s House, Dr. Frankenstein’s lab, and exclusive treats available at the Beastro.
BooLights start shining from 6:30 until 9:30PM various nights throughout October
Depending on your group size, we recommend at least an hour and a half to experience the event. BooLights displays glow brighter as the night goes on, so grab dinner at The Beastro, visit some animals, and explore BooLights under the stars.
BooLights is an after-hours light display; most habitats will be closed or dark so the animals can get a full night’s rest, including: Great Apes, Bear den, the Small Animal Building, Creekside, Asian Highlands, South Hill, and the Ape Lobby. The Norma Education building will close at sundown.
Yes, both the Eccles Express and the Conservation Carousel will be operating during BooLights. Tickets are $3 per person per ride.

Yes! BooLights happens rain or shine, so gear up for a night like no other. BooLights admission tickets are not refundable due to weather.
Yes, you can buy tickets for BooLights at the front gate. However, we recommend buying your tickets online to save time.
Yes, BooLights is more fun with friends! Zoo members can use their membership discount to buy tickets for their family and friends.
