Summer Animal Care
When temperatures rise, animal care at Utah’s Hogle Zoo kicks into summer mode. From polar bears to porcupines, our care teams adapt routines to keep animals cool, comfortable, and thriving in warmer weather. If you and your herd are looking to cool off while exploring Hogle Zoo, visit the Rocky Shores Splash Pad, grab a cool treat at the Beastro, or beat the heat in Wild Utah’s Norma W. Matheson Education Animal Center!
Fall at Hogle Zoo
Autumn brings crisp air, colorful leaves, and plenty of reasons to visit Utah’s Hogle Zoo. From baby primates, BooLights, and BrewLights to seasonal discount days, fall is the perfect time to plan your next visit.
Swing by and see baby Bornean orangutan Weila with her foster mom Acara. Guests may now spot them in the Great Apes lobby or outdoor habitat; look closely, as Weila’s hair blends into Acara’s. Their favorite resting spots include high shelves and hammocks.
