This season, bundle up and experience the magic of winter at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, where every visit offers new reasons to connect with wildlife and wild places.
Give the gift of adventure with a Hogle Zoo membership. Members enjoy a full year of free admission, exclusive events, and discounts on food, programs, and retail.
Looking for something unique? Animal Encounters, Behind-the-Scenes Tours, and General Admission Tickets make memorable gifts that support animal care and conservation.
You can also shop in person at the Wild Zootique gift shop, where you’ll find wildlife-themed toys, apparel, books, and sustainable gifts for all ages. Every purchase helps support the zoo’s mission.
There’s still time to visit ZooLights, Hogle Zoo’s beloved after-dark light experience. With thousands of sparkling lights, seasonal treats, and glowing displays around every corner, ZooLights is a winter tradition for all ages. Most animal habitats are closed for the evening to give animals a chance to rest, but the memories made along the lighted paths are sure to shine bright.
Plus, Santa will be visiting the Wild Zootique gift shop on select evenings through December 23. Stop by to say hello and snap a festive photo during your ZooLights visit.

Enjoy Wild Wednesdays on December 31, January 28, and February 25 for only $8 in person, or $6 if you purchase your tickets online. These special days are a great opportunity to visit during the quieter, cooler months while supporting wildlife conservation.
Some animals, like the big cats, enjoy the colder months, while others prefer the warmth of indoor spaces. Giraffes, rhinos, and other warm-weather residents may choose to stay inside more often during winter. When possible, animals can move freely between indoor and outdoor areas based on their preferences and comfort.
Colder days also offer a chance to get a closer look at the zoo’s youngest residents. As temperatures drop, Weila the baby orangutan, Addo the gorilla infant, and other primates are more likely to be visible in indoor viewing areas.
Have old holiday lights that no longer work or aren’t needed? Bring them to Hogle Zoo this winter. We’re offering free recycling for holiday lights of all kinds to help reduce waste and protect animal habitats.
To recycle your lights, bring them to the Guest Services office during regular zoo hours from December 1 to January 4.
Utah’s Hogle Zoo will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. We’re open daily throughout the rest of the season.
