For more than 20 years, Utah’s Hogle Zoo has offered free admission for Wild Wednesdays. This is our way of saying THANK YOU for your support of the Zoo, Arts and Parks (ZAP) Program. Wild Wednesdays were the last Wednesdays of November, December, January and February.
This past decade saw the opening of Rocky Shores and African Savanna. We opened a new playground, splash park and cut the ribbon on a new home for our meerkats. We brought in new warthogs and saw the return of red pandas. We had babies! Zebras, leopards, lions, snow leopards, giraffes, pallas cats, sand cats, orangutan and ‘baby’ Zuri just turned 10 this year!
We added new events BooLights, Zoo Brew and Brew Lights! We welcomed many area businesses and organizations as important Zoo sponsors and partners. Tripled our education offerings and worked tirelessly to offer the best care possible to our animals. We made the news with all of the above plus: Dental surgery on a rhino; cataract surgery on numerous species; aggressive hoof treatments on our giraffe; hand-raising more than one primate species; cancer research using blood from our African elephants; and many, many upgrades on this Utah tradition.
We’re exhausted but so grateful and we want to say thank you! You’ve supported us through the lows, were patient during periods of construction, offered kind feedback when necessary, signed up for classes and camps, followed us on social media, attended great events, even contributed to our conservation efforts. We couldn’t do what we do without you!
So, we’re adding a few more Wild Wednesdays this year to commemorate all we’ve accomplished together! For the rest of this year, every Wednesday is FREE! No tickets required. Just show up from 10a- 5p and enjoy your Zoo!
*Hogle Zoo is closed on Christmas Day. ZooLights not included in Wild Wednesdays.
