RegisterGirl Scouts will learn about nocturnal animals and how to protect them when outdoors. They will learn what types of adaptations animals need to survive in darkness and how to spot them. During this class scouts will complete 5 out of 5 of the requirements for the Cadette Night Owl badge. Adults are welcome to attend class but are not required to stay. Badges are not provided by the zoo.

They will learn what animals need to survive in the wild and how those needs might change throughout their lives. During this class scouts will complete 4 out of 5 of the requirements for the junior habitats badge. Adults are welcome to attend class but are not required to stay. Register on gsutah.org8:30 AM-4:00 PM Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a zookeeper? Do you have a passion for animals? This full-day class allows adults 18 years and older to step into the world of zoos and learn about how Utah's Hogle Zoo cares for its animals. You will learn about the day-to-day operations of running an AZA-accredited zoo and how animal well-being is at the heart of everything a zookeeper does in their day: from cleaning enclosures, to preparing meals, and to providing enrichment. This deep dive into zookeeping will help you discover what the zoo does for conservation and how you can take action to become a Champion for Wildlife.
Register6:00-9:00 PM Finish out spring with cute and cuddly vibes by painting this adorable scene featuring everyone's favorite bamboo eater- the panda. Simple shapes and bold colors make this painting easy to create and impossible not to love!
Register10:00-11:30 AM Is it time for a visit to the dentist? Come put a smile on your face when you discover how zookeepers and dentists help animals keep their teeth healthy!
Register8:30 AM-4:00 PM Do you love animals? Do you think measuring, scrubbing, sweeping, and interacting with wild animals would be a perfect day? Have you always wanted to be a zookeeper? Well, here is your chance to see if you have what it takes. Come to the Zoo for a hands‒on, behind-the-scenes, fun-filled day. Participants will spend their day with a staff member learning about the life of a zookeeper. The program includes watching animal training, learning about animal diets, meeting ambassador animals and helping to clean exhibits. We will provide lunch, a T-shirt and a Keeper‒tastic time!
RegisterThis camp is five (5) days | 9AM - 4PM Paint like a giraffe and dance like an ostrich! Join us for an art adventure as we investigate the lives of animals through art. This camp is jam-packed with painting, drawing, sculpting, and enrichment building. You'll even meet some of the zoo's animal artists. Each day will focus on a different art medium.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the important tasks these professionals perform to ensure the animals are thriving and gain valuable hands-on skills along the way.

Come count with us at Utah’s Hogle Zoo in this camp all about animals and numbers. This adult and child camp includes stories, crafts, activities, and animal visits.
